I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Chair of Governors at Heathcote Primary School. My wife and I have been residents of the local area for 20 years and since my son (aged 9) joined the school I have been keen to support the school in its development. I joined the School Standards Committee in late 2019 and became the Chair in March 2022 following the Ofsted inspection. I continue to be impressed by the community focussed aspect of the school.
For the past 6 years I have worked as a Head of Department for the local Further Education College having previously been a Head of Curriculum and Class Teacher in a Secondary School in Birmingham. This experience of education can be invaluable however no two schools re the same especially when they cater for different age groups.
I hope to be able to help the school continue to thrive especially as the school and the local are continue to grow. It continues to be a very exciting time for our children and the school.
